IN AOSTA ON FEBRUARY 15, SANT’ANNA SCHOOL PROFESSOR GIVES A TALK ON CONSTITUTIONAL GUARANTEES FOR LINGUISTIC MINORITIES

On Thursday, February 15, in Aosta, Italian scholars with La Stampajournalist Enrico Martinet as facilitator will discuss the constitutional guarantees for linguistic minorities. The Constitutional Dialogue Series Dialoghi sulla Costituzione, sponsored by the Council of Ministers and Laterza Publishing, provides a forum for academics to debate Italy’s constitutional legacy. Twelve sessions will be organized to offer a variety of perspectives and insights into the constitutional principles.

The invited speakers in this sixth session were: Paolo Carrozza, professor of public law constitutional law at Sant’Anna School Dirpolis Institute (Law, Politics, Development), Luca Serianni, professor of History of Italian Language University of Rome - La Sapienza, Dario Elia Tosi, professor of public law - University of Valle d’Aosta, and Fulvio Centoz, Mayor of Aosta. Fabrizio Cassella, rector of University of Valle d’Aosta, Laurent Viérin, president of Regione Autonoma Valle d’Aosta and Giuseppe Laterza of Laterza Publishing will participate in the debate on February 15 at 4.00 pm, University of Valle d’Aosta - aula magna Sant’Anselmo.

The workshop will provide responses based on the Constitution rights contained in article 6 to public debate about the Linguistic Minority protection. Each session of the Constitutional Dialogue Series will offer an overview of important issues as they arise in our communities to promote a robust and open dialogue. Theoretical tools and multi-disciplinary perspectives on Italian constitutional history will be offered to students.
